He questioned whether there was any negative <br />response for the single -sort recycling. <br />Assistant City Manager Moore -Sykes replied one resident did not like single -sort because of the <br />color of the bins. <br />Councilmember Horst requested the haulers be available to answer questions at the second and <br />third readings. <br />Motion carried. <br />VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />Assistant City Manager Moore -Sykes reported the St. Anthony Police Department will be <br />offering two safety seminars. She stated the first seminar will be held on October 24, 2007 from <br />7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. regarding computer and internet safety and the second seminar on <br />November 7, 2007 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. would cover sexual assault and personal safety. <br />She stated she would make sure these were advertised on CTV and the website. <br />Assistant City Manager Moore -Sykes reported a new Historical Society Brochure is available. <br />She stated she finds out new information almost daily about St. Anthony and it is important to <br />retain the history of the City. She stated the Historical Society meets the third Wednesday of <br />every month from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. She stated it is interesting to see the scrapbooks and <br />information brought forward by residents. <br />Assistant City Manager Moore -Sykes invited the Council to attend the League of Minnesota <br />Cities Regional Meetings. The Metro meeting will be held on November 29, 2007 in <br />Bloomington. She commented anyone that wanted to attend and should let her know and she <br />will complete the registration. <br />Councilmember Horst reported attending the St. Anthony Community Services Advisory <br />Council meeting on October 4, 2007. He noted that childcare enrollments are somewhat down <br />and stated a needs assessment discussion on what services should be operating out of the City <br />would occur at the next several meetings. He asked residents to contact the St. Anthony School <br />District or Community Services for more information. <br />
