These did not show on the original site plan. <br />Commissioner Horst asked about the variance. <br />Assistant City Manager Moore -Sykes explained the variance would go within a foot of the <br />property line along the west side of the building. <br />Commissioner Hanson explained that with the building size, they do not have adequate numbers <br />of parking spaces. By granting the variance, Building Fasteners would surpass the current zoning <br />code on the number of parking spaces. <br />Mayor Faust clarified the variance is for nine feet and four feet that would then mitigate parking <br />space inadequacies. <br />Commissioner Hanson stated Building Fasteners is proposing broadening the parking lot along <br />the west side of the building. <br />Mayor Faust asked Commissioner Hanson if the Planning Commission passed this request <br />unanimously. He also asked if there were any concerns expressed from the neighbors. <br />Commissioner Hanson reported the Commission passed the request unanimously and no one <br />appeared at the meeting to express concerns. <br />Motion by Councilmember Gray, seconded by Councilmember Thuesen, to approve Resolution <br />06 -062; a Variance for Parking Expansion at 2825/2827 Anthony Lane South. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Councilmember Horst stated he is glad Building Fasteners considers St. Anthony their home. <br />GENERAL POLICY BUSINESS OF THE COUNCIL. <br />A. Ordinance 06 -004; Single Sort Recycling (first reading). <br />Assistant City Manager Moore -Sykes presented to the Council, the first reading of an ordinance <br />for single sort recycling. Ms. Moore -Sykes received a request from three St. Anthony garbage <br />haulers. She indicated the Staff report and change to the ordinance came about when Staff heard <br />
