She stated everyone is very pleased with how <br />the whole project went. <br />Mayor Faust asked Ms Moore -Sykes what the meeting with the cable commission was it about. <br />6 Assistant City Manager Moore -Sykes replied it was a discussion about doing a feasibility study <br />7 about what infrastructure exists and what the member cities would need to support existing <br />8 technology or new and emerging technology. <br />9 <br />10 Mayor Faust mentioned he is not sure if he has had any other issue that has garnered more <br />11 positive comments that the compost effort. He stated the City would not stop the composting <br />12 agreement and encouraged Ms Moore -Sykes to do consider extending the contracts for three <br />13 years rather than yearly. Mayor Faust stated the compost project had initially begun as a pilot <br />14 and, given the many positive comments he had received; it looks as if it is working well. <br />15 <br />16 Councilmember Horst reported he attended the Community Services Board on September 7, <br />17 2006 where the discussion was an update on the status of Community Services programs, early <br />18 childhood and day care. He reported a lively discussion ensued on the City's funding and more <br />19 discussion would happen when he meets with Community Services. <br />20 <br />21 Councilmember Horst stated he attended a Sister City meeting on September 10, 2006 to discuss <br />22 the City's sculpture. He reported the sculpture is ready to be moved and the City Engineer is <br />23 working with Public Arts Saint Paul and contacted several sources to move the sculpture to the <br />24 site and an artist to assemble the pieces. He stated a contractor would be consulted to make sure <br />25 the bases could hold a sculpture of this size. Councilmember Horst stated the sculpture would be <br />26 installed on September 1, 2006 and he wanted to have a dedication in the next couple of weeks. <br />27 He mentioned the first week in October is homecoming and is not a good weekend. <br />28 Councilmember Horst stated this is a tremendous project and opportunity for St. Anthony. <br />29 <br />30 Councilmember Stille reported he had completed his NIMS training which is a prerequisite for <br />31 the Fire Chief to apply for grants. <br />32 <br />33 Councilmember Stille state he attended the Parks Commission meeting September 12, 2006 that <br />34 consisted of a tour of City parks. He stated discussions included cleaning along the fences and <br />35 park connectivity. Councilmember Stille reported they toured Central Park and mentioned the <br />36 concern that people drive to the pavilion. He stated signage would be strategically placed to <br />37 inform visitors the path was not for vehicle traffic. Councilmember Stille worked with an Eagle <br />38 Scout on a project to mark the pathways in Central Park. He stated that public works is working <br />39 with him to place signs that interpret the marks. <br />40 <br />41 Mayor Faust reported attending a revenue meeting with the Association of Metropolitan <br />42 Municipalities on August 27, 2006. <br />43 <br />44 Mayor Faust reported the Council met with the School Board and the new Superintendent on <br />45 August 29, 2006. He mentioned a committee was assigned to look at the issues addressed by <br />46 Councilmember Horst. <br />
