City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />May 10, 2005 <br />Page 8 <br />cost is between $23,000 and $25,000. He noted they are looking for some direction on this from <br />the Council. <br />Councilmember Thuesen asked if there may be some insurance savings if this were installed due <br />to increased safety. Mr. Morrison said he isn't ware of any reduction in cost. <br />7 Mr. Hubmer noted this is a minor solicitation of City funds, and he said they would request three <br />8 bids from vendors. <br />9 <br />10 Councilmember Stille questioned what the lights would do. Mr. Hubmer said that the <br />11 expectation is that when the lights went on, the vehicles would slow down. They are warning <br />12 lights and would flash yellow. <br />13 <br />14 Mr. Morrison suggested soliciting three bids, and bringing them back to the Council. The <br />15 Council would then authorize the bid. <br />16 <br />17 Mayor Faust said the Council is directing Mr. Hubmer to solicit three bids and bring them back <br />18 for consideration. <br />19 <br />20 7. Other Updates <br />21 Mr. Hubmer stated that the final design for Shamrock Ponding Improvements is due May 31. He <br />22 said there is sufficient funds to move forward with this project. A neighborhood meeting will be <br />23 held in June. The construction will begin in July, and the estimated completion date is <br />24 September 2005. <br />25 <br />26 Mr. Hubmer said the City's Well Protection Plan has been completed and sent to the Minnesota <br />27 Department of Health. Their comments will be reviewed and accepted as a formal document in <br />28 the July meeting. He added that Ramsey Conservation District completed the plan for the Silver <br />29 Lake Village District. <br />30 <br />31 Feasibility studies for the Foss Road Lift Station will likely be completed in the fall. The funds <br />32 for this project are being collected. <br />33 <br />34 Councilmember Stille noted that Mr. Hubmer has been made partner with WSB and <br />35 congratulated him. Mr. Hubmer recognized the City for this accomplishment. He added that this <br />36 community is special and the residents are very involved. He commented it is a joy to work for <br />37 St. Anthony Village. <br />38 <br />39 VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCILMEMBERS. <br />40 City Manager Morrison reported the following: <br />41 • The steps are in at Central Park Pavilion. <br />42 • Jay has been working with the Park Commission to set up a process to interview <br />43 consultants to evaluate issues in the community. The committee will interview three and <br />44 recommend one at their next meeting on June 13 and bring the results to the June 14 <br />45 meeting. <br />46 • The Police Chief is on medical leave for a knee replacement. Surgery was successful. <br />47 <br />
