City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />January 11, 2011 <br />Page 4 <br />2 Councilmember Roth inquired about the status of the snow removal budget. City Manager <br />3 Momson replied that the Over Time Budget was exceeded in December; however, the total <br />4 General Fund budget will be under. <br />Councilmember Stille requested City Manager Mornson pass on a resident's commendations on <br />the secondary snow removal to Public Works Director Jay Hartman. <br />9 Mayor Faust stated a proposal has been made to reduce commercial property taxes back to 2009 <br />10 levels. He stated when you reduce one class of property tax it is pushed on to another class, and <br />11 that it may be more important now than it was in the past to express their opinion to the <br />12 legislature. <br />13 <br />14 Councilmember Roth reported on his attendance at the Cable Commission meeting last week. <br />15 Meeting locations will be moved among the member cities over the next four to five months <br />16 while the new space is under construction. There will be an open house for the community once <br />17 the new space is completed in June or July of this summer. <br />18 <br />19 Councilmember Stille: No report. <br />20 <br />21 Councilmember Gray: No report. <br />22 <br />23 Councilmember Jenson: No report. <br />24 <br />25 Mayor Faust reported on his attendance at the Mississippi Watershed Management Organization <br />26 (MWMO) meeting today. He was elected Chair for 2011. He has indicated this is the last year <br />27 he will serve as Chair, as 93.4% of the MWMO is in Minneapolis. He reported that Six Cities <br />28 Watershed Management Organization will be dissolving. The MWMO Board discussed the <br />29 ramifications if the organization were to take in the cities of Fridley, Columbia Heights, and <br />30 Hilltop. <br />31 <br />32 Mayor Faust reported that he and City Manager Mornson attended the annual meeting with the <br />33 mayors, administrators, and police chiefs of Lauderdale and Falcon Heights. The cities are <br />34 happy with the service provided by St. Anthony. <br />35 <br />36 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br />37 <br />38 Mayor Faust invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items that <br />39 are not on the regular agenda. <br />40 <br />41 Mr. Stanley Kasal, 2801 Silver Lake Road, addressed the City Council and extended his <br />42 compliments to the public works crew for the sidewalk and street snow removal on Silver Lake <br />43 Road. <br />44 <br />45 <br />46 <br />
