City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />November 8, 2011 <br />Page 4 <br />1 indicated that New Brighton has agreed to pay the City up to $10,000 for an upgraded card <br />2 reader system and for the first 18 months of the agreement, New Brighton will pay the City for <br />3 the fuel used; after the first 18 months, New Brighton will pay the City an additional $.10 per <br />4 gallon of fuel dispensed. This additional money will be used for maintenance and repair to the <br />5 fuel dispensing system. He stated that the City uses approximately 33,000 gallons of fuel <br />6 annually and New Brighton uses approximately 45,000 gallons of fuel annually, and the <br />7 combined total will allow the City to purchase fuel off the State's fixed fuel account system <br />8 resulting in greater discounts. He added that the money received from New Brighton under the <br />9 agreement will be used for maintenance and repair of the City's fuel dispensing unit. <br />10 <br />11 Mayor Faust stated that this agreement will be good for New Brighton because they will not have <br />12 to go as far for their fuel and will be good for the City as well. He expressed thanks to Interim <br />13 City Manager Hartman for working with the City of New Brighton on this matter. <br />14 <br />15 Councilmember Stille - No report. <br />16 <br />17 Councilmember Gray reported that Northwest Youth and Family Services submitted its recap of <br />18 services to date showing the value of services provided at $3,320, which is significantly less than <br />19 in previous years. He agreed to contact Northwest Youth and Family Services to find out why <br />20 the services have decreased. <br />21 <br />22 Councilmember Jenson rephorted that the St. Anthony Civic Orchestra's fall concert is scheduled <br />23 for Sunday, November 13� . <br />24 <br />25 Councilmember Roth reported that he attended a Finance Committee meeting of the Cable <br />26 Commission on November 2 "d to review the budget in detail. <br />27 <br />28 Mayor Faust reported on his attendance at the following: <br />29 <br />30 • October 271h Chamber of Commerce Adopt A Family fundraiser. <br />31 • October 28`h meeting with Interim City Manager Hartman and the Hennepin County <br />32 Assessor to discuss the elimination of the market value homestead credit. He indicated <br />33 that the Truth in Taxation notices mailed to residents next week will contain a phone <br />34 number for residents to call with questions. <br />35 • The Freshwater Society collected 125 pounds of leaves in the City on October 29th <br />36 representing 1.6 miles of curb line which will be tested for pollutants. <br />37 • October 31" City Council worksession. <br />38 • November 3`d open house at Chandler Place <br />39 • November 7th meeting regarding the Veterans Memorial. He stated that the City will <br />40 hold a ceremony on November 11, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. to officially open the Veterans <br />41 Memorial. <br />42 • November 8th MWMO Board meeting. The MWMO Board approved a $1 million <br />43 project that seeks to improve the quality of run -off water from St. Anthony down to the <br />44 Mississippi River. <br />45 <br />46 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br />
