CONCEPT REVIEWS <br /> <br /> VIII.1. Jack & Jill Daycare – Sign Proposal <br /> <br />Chair Stromgren reported the request was for a pylon sign of about 22 feet in height. He stated <br />this type of sign is usually restricted to only gas station signs. <br /> <br />Commissioner Jensen stated it seems the building itself has plenty of wall height available and it <br />would be possible to extend the wall height within code and qualify for wall signage. He stated <br />he could not see approving a pylon sign at this site. He commented this should have been done <br />at the time of the CUP. <br /> <br />Chair Stromgren stated it meets all the qualifications for requiring a comprehensive sign plan in <br />a strip mal. He stated this would be nice to see given the diversity of signage currently on the <br />building. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued. <br /> <br />Assistant City Manager Moore-Sykes replied that at the time of application for a CUP, there had <br />been no discussion about signage. She stated the applicants were informed of that pylon signs <br />restrictions and that a monument sign may be more reasonable and acceptable. <br /> <br />Commissioner Jensen stated there are several alternatives that would not require a variance. <br /> <br />Assistant City Manager Moore-Sykes commented the elevation for a pylon rationale is because
