Subd. 17. Permissible Occupancy. The maximum number of persons permitted to reside <br />in a dwelling unit or rooming unit. <br />Subd. 18. Person. An individual, firm, partnership, association, corporation or joint <br />venture or organization of any kind. <br />Subd. 19. Premises. A parcel of land which includes a dwelling. <br />Subd. 20. Recyclables. Materials which may be recycled or reused through recycling <br />processes, Including metal beverage containers, glass, newsprint, plastic bottles with <br />necks, corrugated cardboard, magazines, catalogs, phone books and any other materials <br />designated as recyclables by Council resolution. <br />Subd. 21. Refuse. All putrescible and non- putrescible waste solids including garbage <br />and rubbish. <br />Subd. 22. Rental Unit. A dwelling or dwelling unit let for rent or lease. <br />Subd. 23. Repair. To restore to a sound and acceptable state of operation, serviceability <br />or appearance. <br />Subd. 24. Rodent Harbor. Any place where rodents can live, nest or seek shelter. <br />Subd. 25. Rooming Unit. Any room or group of rooms forming a single habitable unit <br />used or intended to be used for living and sleeping, but not for cooking and eating <br />purposes. <br />Subd. 26. Safety. The condition of being reasonably free from danger and hazards which <br />may cause accidents or disease. <br />Subd. 27. Supplied. Paid, furnished or provided by, or under the control of, an owner or <br />operator. <br />Subd. 28. Intemretation. Whenever the words "dwelling ", "dwelling unit ", "premises, or <br />structure are used in this Section 1335, they will be deemed to be followed by the <br />words "or any part thereof'. <br />Section 1335.04 Responsibilities of Owners and Occupants. No owner or other person may <br />occupy or let to another person any dwelling, unless it and the premises are clean, sanitary, fit for <br />human occupancy, and comply with all applicable requirements of the City Code and state and <br />federal laws and regulations:, and International Property Maintenance Code. <br />1/4/2008 13 -3 <br />
