Introduction <br />Honorable Mayor, Council, City Manager, and citizens of St. Anthony: <br />It is my pleasure to present the police department's 2007 Annual Report. <br />2007 marks the 50th year anniversary of the St. Anthony Police Department. <br />Over the last 50 years, many things have changed, yet some things remain a <br />constant in our department. Studies have shown that our public appreciates <br />four important qualities in <br />government: <br />• Empathy and Caring <br />• Competence and Expertise <br />• Honesty and Openness <br />• Commitment and <br />Dedication <br />While the St. Anthony Police <br />Department changes to meet the <br />times, these qualities remain the same. We constantly strive to deliver law <br />enforcement services with these qualities as a top priority. Our law <br />enforcement mission is driven by the fact that we genuinely care about our <br />community and its citizens. <br />Modern technology, meshed with a 50 year old agency culture of caring and <br />service, is a wonderful blend. It is a recipe for satisfied citizens and a true <br />community partnership when it comes to addressing crime in our city. <br />Techniques, equipment, and technology have certainly changed over the last <br />50 years.
