CITY OF SAINT ANTHONY VILLAGE <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION 17 -018 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CITY OF ST. ANTHONY'S PARTICIPATION IN <br />THE GOVERNMENT ALLIANCE ON RACE AND EQUITY (GARE) COHORT <br />WHEREAS, The Government Alliance on Race and Equity (GARS) is a nation network of <br />government working to achieve racial equity and advance opportunities for all; and <br />WHEREAS, GARE supports cohorts of jurisdictions for advancing racial equity; and <br />WHEREAS, The City of St. Anthony wishes to join the 2017 cohort; and <br />WHEREAS, By participating in the cohort the City of St. Anthony will receive tools and <br />resources that include: <br />• A Racial Equity Tool to be used in policy, practice, program and budget decisions, <br />• A capacity building plan and organizational structure to institutionalize equity, <br />• Example policies and practices that help advance racial equity, and <br />• A Racial Equity Action Plan template that we can use to develop our own St. <br />Anthony Village plan; and <br />WHEREAS, The City of St. Anthony has selected a team of individuals to participate in the year <br />long commitment, each receiving 66 hours of training consisting of skill building and <br />strategy development, peer to peer networking and problem solving, and <br />presentations at a cost of $8,000 total. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the City Council of the City of St. Anthony <br />hereby approves the City of St.Anthony's participation in the Government Alliance on Race and <br />Equity (GARS) Cohort. <br />Adopted this 10th day of Janua, 2017. <br />Jerome O.
