2016 Annual Report • Fire Department • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota

12 | Page

IV. Training
By Training Officer Ryan Anttila

The Fire Department completes a variety of training each year to ensure
continued compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations. As
was stated earlier, we are an all hazard responder and for that reason we train
on a wide range of topics. Examples of some of the topics are: water rescue,
blood borne pathogens, natural gas leaks, auto extrication, electrical emergencies, ice rescue,
live fire and hazmat. In addition to our drills we also hold officer training for those positions
that could potentially be an incident commander or in-charge of a crew. Examples of those drills
are NIMS (National Incident Management System), building size-ups, building construction
and communications.
