2016 Annual Report • Fire Department • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota

35 | Page

We also tried to get out more to speak with residents on improving their preparedness side.
This covered both severe storms (summer and winter), power outages, fire and even general
safety around the home.
Again we did our annual training with the Police Department on an active shooter incident and
we held it at the high school. We also brought in a Chief from HCMC who was there to
supervise and critique our actions. Our plan is to then bring in HCMC Paramedics to train with
us on a larger scale where we can get all entities involved.
This past summer we experienced various protests that took place around city hall as well as
other locations in the city. This required coordination of various departments and outside
agencies to assist us with our efforts to provide for a safe environment for those involved.

X. Accomplishments\Highlights
By Assistant Chief Jay Olson

1534 calls for service was the highest in the history of the department.
