2015 Annual Report • Fire Department • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota

13 | Page

IV. Training
The Fire Department completes a variety of training
each year to ensure continued compliance with local,
state and federal rules and regulations. As was stated
earlier, we are an all hazard responder and for that
reason we train on a wide range of topics. Examples of some of the topics are: water rescue,
blood borne pathogens, natural gas leaks, auto extrication, electrical emergencies, ice rescue,
live fire and hazmat. In addition to our drills we also hold officer training for those positions
that could potentially be an incident commander or in-charge of a crew. Examples of those drills
are NIMS (National Incident Management System), building size-ups, building construction
and communications.

The drop in hours from 2014 to 2015 is due to the completion of training of our latest rookie
class. Much of their training was done in 2014 with this past year being focused on pumping,
driving and day to day operations.

21
2
1

18
3
5
23
9
3

29
8
3

16
7
8

36
6
1

26
4
9

88
.
4

76
.
5

88
.
6

10
2
.
9

69
.
9

13
0
.
8

11
0
.
4

2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015
ANNUAL DOCUMENTED TRAINING HOURS
Documented Training Hours Avg.
