2015 Annual Report • Public Works Department • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />16 <br /> <br />2016 STREET AND UTILITY PROJECT <br />The City is proposing a cooperative project with the City of Columbia Heights to reconstruct the <br />roadway and the utilities in Stinson Blvd. from 37th Avenue NE to Silver Lane. This project will <br />include replacing the St. Anthony sanitary sewer, storm sewer and watermains. The project <br />proposes to make Stinson Blvd. a three lane roadway with a center turn lane and turn lanes at <br />the intersections. This project is proposed to begin in Spring of 2016. <br /> <br />VII. 2015 PARKS COMMISSION <br />The Parks Commission consists of five members appointed by City Council. Terms are for three <br />years with appointments made in January. In 2015, the Parks Commission consisted of the <br />following members: <br /> Scott Bentz <br /> Erin Jordahl Redlin <br /> Jeff Fehrenholz <br /> Sarah Ksiazek <br /> Roy Quady <br />In addition to these members, there are two representatives; one from the St. Anthony New- <br />Brighton School District and one the St. Anthony Sports Boosters Organizations. <br />In 2015, the Parks Commission adopted the “Parks Commission Work Plan.” The Work Plan is a <br />schedule of objectives established by Parks Commission and City Council, which provides an <br />efficient method of prioritizing projects and achieving the most important goals as identified <br />the most important goals as identified by the Parks Commission and City Council to work on <br />during 2015: <br /> Explore pedestrian and bike friendly routes, including sidewalks. <br /> Assess parks and recreation facilities. <br /> Encourage native plantings to support natural habitat of pollinator plants. <br />For 2016, the work plan for the Parks Commission consists of the following items: <br /> Become a Tree City USA. <br /> Assist in the Comprehensive Plan Update of the Parks and Trails Chapter. <br /> Explore pedestrian and bike friendly routes including sidewalks. <br /> Explore sustainability initiatives.
