2016 Annual Report • Administration • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota

28

Anti Bias Awareness Training
On December 8th, 2016 the City concluded Anti-Bias Awareness training sessions. There were a
total of five sessions, each of which included a mix of representatives from all City departments,
elected and appointed officials and contracted staff. In addition, staff and elected officials from
Falcon Heights and Lauderdale attended. In all, 137 individuals attended the sessions.

The high-level of participation and willingness to discuss this challenging topic was
encouraging, and ensured that the sessions were valuable and accomplished the goal of setting
a foundation for understanding of the topic and the ability to dig deeper in the future.

The facilitators from the Racial Equity Minnesota Network distributed a survey for attendees to
complete and have compiled feedback received from the attendees that our staff Equity
Committee will review and share with staff, and ultimately use to guide our next steps as a city
on this topic.
