<br />Valuation of the permits is broken down into two categories: residential and
<br />commercial/industrial. In 2016, the valuation breakdown was as follows:
<br />Residential Valuation: $4,452,177
<br />Commercial/Industrial Valuation: $4,657,505
<br />
<br />The City of St. Anthony Village is responsible for several development functions, which
<br />includes building inspections. In 2015, St. Anthony entered into an agreement with the City of
<br />New Brighton for building inspection services. The building inspector is responsible for
<br />enforcing the uniform building, electrical, mechanical and plumbing codes. The inspector also
<br />works closely with the Fire Department in enforcing fire and life safety codes. Applications for
<br />new construction projects are reviewed and building permits are granted after a planning check
<br />is completed to determine compliance with building and zoning codes.
