Mayor Faust read excerpts from the Plans. <br />Motion carried 5 -0. <br />C. Resolution 17 -038; a Resolution Adopting an Intersection Control Policy. <br />City Manager Mark Casey noted included in the Strategic Planning pyramid, under the goal of <br />Maintain & Enhance Infrastructure, there is the Action Step of "Explore Intersection Control <br />Alternatives." A draft policy to provide clarity, process and consistent application for both <br />motorist and pedestrians within the City was provided for Council review. He noted that stop <br />signs can be an effective safety measure if properly warranted. If incorrect traffic controls are <br />installed, undue delays, needlessly interrupt traffic flow and unnecessary accidents could occur. <br />City Manager Mark Casey reviewed the highlights of the policy including Articulated purpose of <br />the policy, clear process which includes a Traffic Study Request Form that is filled out by <br />concerned resident(s), Intersection Control Justification Worksheet to be filled out by staff, and <br />noted the City Council has the final authority. <br />Mayor Faust stated this has been part of the Strategic Plan for some time and now the draft is <br />created. <br />Motion by Councilmember Stille, seconded by Councilmember Brever, to adopt Resolution 17- <br />038; a Resolution Adopting an Intersection Control Policy (draft). <br />Motion carried 5 -0. <br />VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />City Manager Casey reported email notifications will be pushed out tomorrow to Redevelopment <br />of Lowry Grove. If residents are interested in getting pushed notifications, they can sign up on <br />the website. There are currently seven different groups. The newsletter was sent to all residents <br />and extra copies are available at City Hall. <br />Councilmember Stille stated on April 5, he entertained 6 -7 year olds at City Hall. On April 6, he <br />attended the Community Services Meeting. April 10, he attended the Urban Land Institute <br />Mayor's Meeting. <br />Councilmember Gray stated on April 6, he attended the North Suburban Communication North <br />Suburban Access Meeting. <br />Councilmember Brever stated on April 8, she attended the Aztec Meeting. She stopped in at The <br />Village LLC open house prior to the Council Meeting. <br />Councilmember Jenson had no report. <br />
