<br />CITY OF ST. ANTHONY VILLAGE <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 17-057 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING HENNEPIN COUNTY’S EFFORTS SEEKING APPROVAL FOR <br />A FUNCTIONAL CLASS UPGRADE OF KENZIE TERRACE AND ST. ANTHONY BOULEVARD <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the existing Kenzie Terrace roadway has been identified as in need of future capital <br />improvements by Hennepin County staff; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the roadway segment lacks adequate bicycle and pedestrian accommodations and the City of <br />St. Anthony is experiencing redevelopment adjacent to these roadways; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Hennepin County is seeking a functional class upgrade from Metropolitan Council to A- <br />Minor Arterial status to provide eligibility for Regional Solicitation funding; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this functional classification upgrade would not affect these roadways in terms of operation <br />or access; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at this time, Hennepin County has not allocated any capital funding towards improvements <br />along Kenzie Terrace within its Board Approved 2017-2021 Transportation CIP; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Hennepin County will work directly with City of St. Anthony staff in developing preferred <br />concepts once funding has been allocated in the county’s capital budget. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of St. Anthony Village that: <br /> <br />1. The City supports Hennepin County’s efforts in seeking approval for a functional class upgrade of <br />Kenzie Terrace and St. Anthony Boulevard from Metropolitan Council to provide eligibility for <br />Regional Solicitation funding. <br /> <br /> <br />Adopted this 22nd day of August, 2017. <br /> <br /> <br /> _____________________________ <br /> Jerome O.
