City of St. Anthony <br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />City Council Chambers <br />January 29, 2013 <br />Present: <br />Mayor & Council. Jerry Faust, Mayor; Jan Jenson, Councilmember; Jim Roth, Councilmember; Randy Stille, <br />Councilmember. <br />Absent: <br />Hal Gray, Councilmember <br />Staff: <br />Mark Casey, City Manager and Nick Voss, GreenCorp member <br />Call to Order: <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Faust at 6:50 p.m. <br />Wine & Canvas; <br />Eric Swenson, owner of Wine & Canvas, presented a business plan that includes opening a "store front" for his <br />painting class business. Mr. Swenson's business would include serving of food and would be requesting a wine <br />permit. Staff was directed to seek a legal opinion if a wine license could be granted under our current code. <br />"Open to Business ": <br />Rob Smolund presented information on free one -on -one business counseling to current and prospective <br />entrepreneurs. Staff was directed to schedule Mr. Smolund present at a future City Council meeting. <br />Regional Indicators initiative: <br />Rick Carter presented information on the twenty city, four year collection of energy data to help measure our <br />"carbon footprint" Mr. Carter has established a scorecard that will assist in measuring the impact of "green" <br />initiatives. <br />Navigating the New Normal: <br />Casey presented information on the March 18, 2013 work session on redevelopment sponsored by the ULI (Urban <br />Land Institute).
