They usually offer many ways to connect <br />to other registered users such as status updates (micro blogging), instant messaging, <br />blogs, polls, photo sharing, video sharing, etc. <br />Software: System software includes the operating system and all utilities that enable <br />the computer to function. Application software includes programs that do real work for <br />users (i.e. word processors, spreadsheets, and database management systems). <br />Technologically Advanced Equipment: IT equipment that is designated as advanced <br />or futuristic technology in comparison to current technology that is purchased and /or <br />assigned to City of St. Anthony staff members. Examples of Technologically Advanced <br />Equipment would include non - planned IT equipment purchases, newer versions of <br />software and / or hardware that are currently being utilized or assigned to City staff. <br />Users: regular, part -time, elected officials, temporary/seasonal employees, vendors, <br />consultants, volunteers, interns, and others. <br />Virus: A program or piece of code that is loaded onto your computer without your <br />knowledge and runs against your wishes. Viruses can also replicate themselves. All <br />computer viruses are manmade. A simple virus that can make a copy of itself over and <br />over again is relatively easy to produce. Even such a simple virus is dangerous <br />because it will quickly use all available memory and bring the system to a halt. An even <br />more dangerous type of virus is one capable of transmitting itself across networks and <br />bypassing security systems. <br />
