Finance Activity Unique to 2016 <br />DEVELOPED MWMO INVESTMENT STRATEGY <br /> <br />Finance staff assisted the MWOW Executive Director with defined an <br />investment plan and developed an investment allocation strategy. The <br />plan allows the MWMO to diversify its investments according to type <br />and maturity. The portfolio, as much as <br />possible, will contain both short-term <br />and long-term investments. The MWMO <br />will attempt to match its investments with anticipated cash flow <br />requirements for significant capital projects. Extended <br />maturities may be utilized to take advantage of higher yields. <br />The chart at right depictes the investment allocation prior to <br />implementation. The MWMO Finance staff along with the <br />Executive Director implemented the investment strategy during <br />2016. <br />The purpose of this effort was to fulfill the Investment Policy adopted by the Board of <br />Commissioners. <br />2 016 ELECTION AND ABSENTEE VOTING <br />No excuse absentee voting resulted in the Administration and Finance staff being very busy <br />with voters for the two weeks leading up to the election. With three days to go before the <br />election it was all hands on deck to keep wait times as minimal was possible. During the last <br />days leading up the election 300-400 absentee ballots a day were processed. The City Hall front <br />counter became the place to be! <br />1 in 5 voters in St. Anthony voted by absentee in 2016. <br /> <br /> <br />HEALTH AND DENTAL <br />INSURANCE CARRIER CHANGES
