Technological Advances <br />LASERFICHE <br />During 2015 paper form general ledgers, payroll records residential <br />address files, council minutes and council agenda packets, were <br />converted to digital storage using Laserfiche. Staff provided for one <br />year period to confirm that documents were converted accurately <br />and completely. The conversion was determined to be complete and <br />accurate during the summer of 2016. Thereafter the paper records <br />were either shredded or recycled. This two-step process <br />accomplished the Laserfiche retention considered a priority. It also eliminated a substantial <br />portion of the paper on file. The remaining paper files will be converted over a practical time <br />frame based on benefits gained. <br />Residential Plans included in address files not converted to Laserfiche were retained and added <br />to the modified plan filing system <br /> <br />AUTOMATIC METER READING (AMR) SYSTEM UPGRADE <br />The Finance and Public Works staff initiated a plan to upgrade the City’s AMR system in place <br />for water meters. The upgrade involved a hardware component, an existing software upgrade <br />and a purchase of additional software. The hardware component was completed in 2016. The <br />software conversion and upgrade is taking place in 2017. <br />
