Community Planning and Economic Development
2014 Annual Report · Administration · St. Anthony Village, Minnesota
Sign Permits
In 2014, there were a total of 7 Sign Permits issued within the City.
The total sign valuation for those improvements was $54,771. This is
generally consistent with the sign permit trends over the past seven
years, with the exception of a small spike in 2012.
Public Safety Registration Permits
Prior to opening, but after an offi cial
“Certifi cate of Occupancy” by the Building
Offi cial, a new business within the City of
St. Anthony Village must receive a Public
Safety Permit. The permit must be reviewed
and approved by varying departments
including building, zoning, police and
fi re. This permit notifi es City staff of the
business and verifi es that it meets all applicable codes, rules and regulations prior
to opening its doors.
In 2014, an increased effort was made to ensure that all new and existing
businesses were in compliance with this permit requirement. As a result, there
were a total of 35 Public Safety Registration Permits approved for new and
existing businesses in the City. This was the nearly three times the total amount
of permits issued annually over the past seven years.
IN SUMMARY
2014 was another productive year! The City continued its focus on maintaining and enhancing the community
while strategically investing in the future. The City made progress on a number of projects, strengthened and
developed new partnerships and programs, and continued to enhance the services that make St. Anthony a
great place to live, to work, and to do business. This report highlighted many of these outstanding efforts.
