ANTHONY AND THE REGION <br />Tara Beard, AICP, Housing Policy Analyst with the Metropolitan Council was invited to present <br />information to the group on housing trends in St. Anthony and the greater region. Below are <br />highlights of the presentation: <br /> <br /> <br />FUTURE HOUSING NEEDS IN ST. ANTHONY, 2021-2030 <br />St. Anthony is not expecting a lot of new household growth. To remain a desirable, inclusive, and <br />resilient community, policymakers may wish to consider: <br />• Maintaining a good balance of housing types <br />• Supporting a full range affordability options <br />• Preserving “naturally occurring” affordable housing <br />• Guiding more high-density residential land to accommodate growth and housing options <br />• Partnerships <br />- CURA and the Humphrey Institute <br />- Twin Cities Land Bank <br />- Local Initiatives Support Corporation <br />- Greater Minnesota Housing Fund: “NOAH” fund <br />• Effective leverage of financial tools <br />- TIF and Tax Abatement <br />- Housing bonds <br />- 4d tax incentives <br />- County and Met Council grant programs <br />- MN Housing (LIHTC and the Super RFP)
