"r <br />2014 STRATEGIC PLAN <br />Values of St. Anthony Village <br />The participants reflected upon the essential <br />values that define their work and relationships. <br />The following qualities and characteristics were <br />identified by the group. There was clear <br />consensus that the elected officials and staff <br />share common values. These are listed in no <br />particular order. <br />• Teamwork <br />• Long Term focus <br />• See the big picture <br />• Integrity <br />• High level of transparency <br />• Fair and reasonable <br />• Focused on adding value <br />• Work hard, yet have fun doing it <br />• Noblese Oblige <br />• Set an example — "Golden Rule" <br />• Focused on doing the right thing <br />• Competitive; want to be the best <br />• Responsive <br />• Motivated to work hard <br />• Curiosity <br />• Humility <br />• Empathy <br />Long Term Vision <br />The participants spent a considerable amount of <br />time focusing on the long term future. Each <br />individual was asked to reflect on what he/she <br />believes are critical long term issues for the <br />City. The discussion was wide-ranging and <br />informative. Many ideas were put on the table; <br />a sampling of them includes the following: <br />• Fiber and technology <br />• Industrial park development <br />• Bridge over Highway 88 for trails <br />• Bridge over railroad tracks <br />• Decorative street lighting <br />• Buried power lines <br />• Shopping center redevelopment <br />• Housing code/housing stock upgrade <br />• Sense of place "downtown" feel <br />• Walkable paths <br />• Stabilized Police contracts <br />• Long term plan for liquor operations <br />• Plan for municipal fleet and facilities <br />• HR needs: succession planning <br />• Fire — produce revenue <br />• Expand financial services to others <br />• Health and vitality of Silver Lake <br />• Small business incubator <br />The City Council requested that these topics remain on their workshop agenda's and encouraged <br />staff to follow-up in the future. <br />
