- 1 - <br />Considerable time and debate was given to the task of updating statements about the <br />values, vision, and mission of the City. The group wanted the Core Values to reflect some <br />of the important dynamics of the community that were being acting on for some time. <br />The City is conscious of the need to be environmentally responsible and progressive and <br />the group wanted that reflected. There is a great respect and concern for the role formal <br />and informal education plays in the quality of life for St. Anthony residents. Also, a key to <br />the success of the governing body has been and continues to be the transparency of its <br />actions. <br /> <br /> <br />Our Core Values <br /> <br /> Community <br /> Communications and feedback <br /> Collaboration <br /> Resident focus <br /> Safe and secure neighborhoods <br /> The feel of a village <br /> Fiscal responsibility <br /> Environmentally Progressive & Responsible <br /> Respect education and diversity <br /> Transparency in actions <br /> <br />Our Vision <br /> <br />Saint Anthony is a vibrant community that values our unique environment, our fiscal <br />soundness and a tradition of being a desirable city in which to live, work, learn and play. <br /> <br />The vision statement was tweaked to reflect a new emphasis coming out of the core values. <br /> <br />Our Mission <br /> <br />Our Mission is to be a progressive and livable community, a walkable Village which is safe <br />and secure. <br /> <br />The mission statement review produced a lengthy discussion aimed at the appropriateness of having <br />the term walkable included. The discussion included the idea that it might be too specific and should <br />be dropped, to a term that is becoming part of the City’s ‘Brand.’ The consensus of the participants <br />was to leave it in. <br />
