ANTHONY 1 <br />CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES 2 <br />MARCH 13, 2018 3 <br /> 4 <br />CALL TO ORDER. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Mayor Faust called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. 7 <br /> 8 <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. 9 <br /> 10 <br />Mayor Faust invited the Council and audience to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. 11 <br /> 12 <br />ROLL CALL. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Present: Mayor Faust, Councilmembers Gray, Jenson, Randle, and Stille. 15 <br />Absent: None. 16 <br />Also Present: City Manager Mark Casey, Liquor Operations Manager Mike Larson, Police Chief 17 <br />Jon Mangseth, Fire Chief Mark Sitarz 18 <br /> 19 <br /> 20 <br />CONSIDERATION, DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ALL OF THE FOLLOWING 21 <br />ITEMS. 22 <br /> 23 <br />I. APPROVAL OF MARCH 13, 2018 CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Motion by Councilmember Gray, seconded by Councilmember Jenson, to approve the City 26 <br />Council Meeting Agenda of March 13, 2018 as presented. 27 <br /> 28 <br />Motion carried 5-0. 29 <br /> 30 <br />II. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS. 31 <br /> 32 <br />A. Presentation by Ramsey County Sheriff, Chief Deputy Frazer. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Chief Deputy Frazer provided a summary of what is going on in the Sheriff’s office. He stated 35 <br />2017 was a busy year and over 100 employees were hired. The Sheriff is committed to be a 36 <br />diversity hiring with 60% or higher for diversity. The annual Hot Dog with a Deputy events will 37 <br />start within the next few weeks. Other initiatives are partnering for SWAT services with various 38 <br />Cities within the County. It has been a good year with a lot of change with the addition of 100 39 <br />new employees. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Councilmember Stille stated he has heard it is difficult getting candidates. Chief Deputy Frazer 42 <br />stated they have not had problems getting candidates. 43 <br /> 44 <br />Mayor Faust stated he spoke with the Police Chief and the Fire Chief and there have been no 45 <br />issues with the Sheriff’s Department. He thanked Chief Deputy Frazer for the model he portrays 46 <br />to everyone. 47 <br /> 48 <br /> 49 <br />1
