2017 Annual Report • Police Department • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota <br /> <br /> <br />30 | P a g e <br /> <br /> <br />October: Officers participated in "Walk to School Day" at <br />Wilshire Park Elementary. Officers on foot monitored vehicle <br />and pedestrian traffic as students walked to school. Officers <br />also got a chance to assist crossing guards in front of the <br />school. <br />The St. Anthony Police Department participated in National <br />Coffee With A Cop Day, October 5, <br />2017. SAPD partnered with local businesses, <br />including Cub Foods and Caribou Coffee, to <br />offer free coffee, cookies, donuts, and muffins <br />for members of the public who attended the <br />events. SAPD hosted events in all three of our <br />jurisdictions. The events took place at the Cub <br />Foods in St. Anthony, Falcon Heights Town <br />Square Apartments in Falcon Heights, and City <br />Gables apartments in Lauderdale. <br />Officers attended the Wilshire Park Elementary School <br />Parents’ Association Fall Fest. Officers gave tours of squad <br />cars, gave out stickers, and took photos with kids at the <br />event. <br />November: While on patrol, CSO Touré engaged in a <br />game of football with several students from Wilshire Park <br />Elementary School. <br />The police department also maintains a D.A.R.E. program that <br />delivers a curriculum to students in 5th and 8th grades in St. Anthony elementary and middle <br />schools. Officer Jonathan Schlingman is the department’s dedicated D.A.R.E. Officer. He also <br />provides services as a school resource officer in those schools. <br /> <br />
