Resolution 18 -024; a Resolution Authorizing Participation in the 2018 — 2019 GreenCorp <br />3 Program. <br />4 <br />5 City Manager Casey reviewed a resolution to participate in Minnesota GreenCorp. Minnesota <br />6 GreenCorp is an AmeriCorp Program coordinated by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency <br />7 (MPCA). The goal of MN GreenCorp is to preserve and protect Minnesota's environment while <br />8 training a new generation of environmental professionals. <br />10 The City of St. Anthony applied each year since 2012 and was awarded a GreenCorp member for <br />11 the 2012 — 2013 and 2015 — 2016 program years. With the assistance of the GreenCorp member, <br />12 the City has established several sustainable programs that will continue to benefit the City for <br />13 many years to come. The GreenCorp member would be compensated by the MPCA and St. <br />14 Anthony would be responsible for supervision and office space. <br />15 <br />16 This resolution is to authorize staff to submit an application to be a GreenCorp host site for the <br />17 2018 — 2019 program year. <br />18 <br />19 Mayor Faust noted Nick went to work for Burnsville and Kristin is in Woodbury. These were the <br />20 previous GreenCorp members who worked in St. Anthony. <br />21 <br />22 Councilmember Stille asked if Mr. Casey has time for the supervision. Mr. Casey responded the <br />23 Public Works Director, Jay, would be the immediate supervisor. <br />24 <br />25 Councilmember Jenson asked if St. Anthony has a strong probability of getting one and Mr. <br />26 Casey stated there are more applicants and it's more competitive every year. Mr. Casey stated <br />27 this is a state -wide program and there are 25 members placed. <br />28 <br />29 Motion by Councilmember Stille, seconded by Councilmember Jenson, to approve Resolution <br />30 18 -024; a Resolution Authorizing Participation in the 2018 — 2019 GreenCorps Program. <br />31 <br />32 Motion Carried 5 -0. <br />33 <br />34 D. St. Anthony Fire Department Annual Report. <br />35 <br />36 Fire Chief Mark Sitarz provided the St. Anthony Fire Department 2017 Annual Report. Chief <br />37 Sitarz reviewed the Fire Department Divisions. There are currently 27 Active Firefighters, 4 to <br />38 be sworn, 3 rookies in training, and 2 part-time code enforcement employees. There are currently <br />39 7 women on the department. Chief Sitarz reviewed Operations, Total Calls for Service, Call <br />40 Breakdown, Dollar Loss from Fire, Fire Investigations, Operations Summary, Training, Fire <br />41 Inspections, Fire Marshal, Fire Prevention/Public Education, Code Enforcement (Housing), Code <br />42 Enforcement — Rental, Emergency Management, and Outcomes. Chief Sitarz cited details of <br />43 some of the calls. St. Anthony Fire Department far exceeds the number of required training <br />44 hours. In 2017 2900 members of the public received the Fire Department message. Chief Sitarz <br />45 talked about Firefighter Isaac Davis.
