Sustainability <br />Mission: To be a progressive and welcoming Village that is walkable, sustainable and safe. <br />Projects: <br /> Hosted the 2017 Rain Barrel Workshop (MWMO Grant) <br /> Environmental Education <br /> Partnering with MWMO and RCWD <br /> Assisting with City projects <br />2017 SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVES <br /> Annual Spring Clean Up Day: 225 residents visited <br />(5/6/17) <br /> Fix-It-Clinic: 103 attendees brought in 155 items with <br />a fix rate of 77%, diverting 748 lbs of waste <br /> Tech Dump: 2,706 lbs of electronic waste properly <br />recycled (10/7/17) <br /> The City became one of the first six cities in the state <br />to achieve the STEP 5 designation of the MPCA <br />Green Steps program by showing improvement in <br />the STEP 4 metrics. <br /> <br />Looking ahead to 2018, Sustainability Initiatives include: <br /> Rain Barrel Workshop- Thursday, April 19th <br /> Annual Spring Clean-Up Day- Saturday, May 5th <br /> Fix-It-Clinic- Saturday, October 27th <br /> Tech Dump- Saturday, October 27th <br /> Parks Clean Up <br /> <br /> <br />
