Mayor
Faust stated under his leadership, the City has received $31,000,000 in grants.
Mr. Bird asked if the retreat location in Brooklyn Park was primary to what was developed and
whether it was critical to hold the meeting outside St. Anthony. Mr. Bird was invited to come to
the April 21, Coffee with the Council. Mr. Bird explained he is concerned that the jaunt to
Brooklyn Park cost $25,000 - $30,000.
Mr. Bird asked why they used Dorsey & Whitney instead of the City Attorney. Mayor Faust
stated they are the City Attorney. Mr. Bird asked why the meeting could not have been in St.
Anthony and referenced Apollo 13. Mr. Bird stated he thinks Councilmember Stille gets it
wrong on that and he does not see Council listening to people. Mr. Bird stated he recently met
with Chief Mangseth regarding an issue, the Chief listened, and the issue was resolved.
Mr. Bird stated his opinion that the appointment of Councilmember Randle, who received 4% of
the vote vs. another person who got 29% of the vote, is not listening to the residents. He would
like to hear Council and Mayor thoughts on these issues.
IX. INFORMATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS — NONE.
X.
