St. Anthony 2040 Comprehensive Plan Chapter 8: Water Supply <br />162 <br /> <br />Regulation <br />The City of St. Anthony has implemented several regulations to reduce <br />demand and improve efficiency in its water system. Rainfall sensors are <br />required on landscape irrigation systems; water use is restricted by <br />odd/even days and time of day; splash pad use in City parks is reduced <br />during months of high water usage; tree ratios are enforced for new <br />development in Districts R-3 and R-4; and a critical water deficiency <br />ordinance has been established. A summary of these regulations with links <br />to more information on them is included in APPENDIX 10. <br />Retrofitting Programs <br />The City partnered with the gas company and the EPA to distribute toilet <br />leak tablets and faucet aerators. The City also hosted a rain barrel seminar <br />and pays for half of a resident’s first rain barrel. <br />Education and Outreach <br />The City has implemented, or plans to implement, the following education <br />and outreach programs: <br />• Billing inserts include educational information <br />• Consumer Confidence Reports prepared annually <br />• Staff training includes awareness of conservation goals <br />• Facility tours are available on request <br />• Sustainability Fair to educate about everyday sustainability <br />• Rain barrel seminar and rebate program <br />• Village Notes community newsletter quarterly <br />• Information available at the water reuse facility <br />• Information available on City website (http://www.ci.saint- <br />anthony.mn.us/) <br />
