Resolution 18 -042, a Resolution supporting the Contamination Grant Application <br />2 submitted to the Department of Em llooyment and Economic Development (DEED) <br />3 The Village, LLC for Environmental Remediation at 2501 Lowry Avenue. <br />4 <br />5 City Planner Rothstein presented the revised resolution for Council approval. She explained the <br />6 City needs to be the agency making the request, more information was requested from DEED, <br />7 and the City was allowed to resubmit the grant application. <br />9 Ms. Caroline Elling, Landmark Environmental, noted they are the environmental consultant <br />10 working with The Village LLC. Changes in DEED's protocol most likely required the additional <br />11 information and they have approved the revised resolution. <br />12 <br />13 Motion by Councilmember Jenson, seconded by Councilmember Gray, approve Resolution 18- <br />14 042; a Resolution supporting the Contamination Grant Application submitted to the Department <br />15 of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) by The Village, LLC for Environmental <br />16 Remediation at 2501 Lowry Avenue. <br />17 <br />18 Motion carried 5 -0. <br />19 <br />20 B. Resolution 18 -043; a Resolution to approve a request to keep four our (4) female chickens in <br />21 an R -1 zoning district at 3609 33`d Avenue NE. <br />22 <br />23 City Planner Rothstein reviewed staff received an inquiry from the Applicant on May 8, 2018 <br />24 requesting information in order to have chickens on their property. The applicant (Paige Buck) <br />25 provided an overview of their plans and they plan to keep the coop near the northeast corner of <br />26 their property line, inside their 6 -foot chain link fence. The coop location is more than 25 feet <br />27 from any structures, the closest of which is their neighbor's barn/garage to the east. They also <br />28 stated there are 14 feet to the north before a neighboring wooden fence. They have discussed <br />29 their plans with their neighbors who are supportive of their intentions to keep chickens. <br />30 <br />31 Councilmember Randle asked if there are any other chickens in the pipeline and Ms. Rothstein <br />32 stated generally in the spring is when people wish to have chickens and she does not have any <br />33 more requests currently. Councilmember Randle suggested residents discuss this with their <br />34 neighbors. <br />35 <br />36 Motion by Councilmember Randle, seconded by Councilmember Jenson, approve Resolution 18- <br />37 043; a Resolution approving a request to keep four (4) female chickens in an R -1 zoning district <br />38 at 3609 33`d Avenue NE. <br />39 <br />40 Motion carried 5 -0. <br />41 <br />42 C. Resolution 18 -044, a Resolution Supporting Affordably Priced Housing at 2401 Lowry_ <br />43 Avenue. <br />44 <br />45 City Manager Casey reviewed a memo from Aeon and a Resolution to Support Affordably <br />46 Priced Housing at 2401 Lowry Avenue (current Bremer Bank).
