CITY OF SAINT ANTHONY VILLAGE <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION 16 -048 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING SOLAR GARDEN SUBSCRIPTION AGREEMENTS WITH <br />UNITED STATES SOLAR CORPORATION AND SOLARSTONE COMMUNITY LLC <br />WHEREAS, the City of Saint Anthony Village strives to engage in sustainable programs to support <br />the City's strategic initiatives and goals; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Saint Anthony Village submitted a letter of intent to the Metropolitan <br />Council to participate in the "Community Solar Subscriber Collaborative" in July 2015 <br />and was placed in a lottery pool with other local governments; and <br />WHEREAS, in April 2016 the City of Saint Anthony Village was selected from the lottery pool and <br />offered solar garden subscription opportunities; and <br />WHEREAS, the solar garden subscription agreements allows the city to participate in the development <br />of solar energy technology in Minnesota without the direct responsibility of owning and <br />maintaining the site; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Saint Anthony Village will "subscribe" to an amount of solar energy <br />equivalent to approximately one - quarter of the annual electricity use from city facilities; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Saint Anthony Village will receive credit from Xcel Energy on its electricity <br />bill for city facilities; and <br />WHEREAS, the duration of the solar subscription agreements is 25 years beginning after the <br />agreement is accepted and signed by all parties. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Saint Anthony Village <br />hereby approves solar garden agreements with United States Solar Corporation and SolarStone <br />Community LLC. <br />Adopted this 24th day of May, 2016 <br />Jerome O.
