ANTHONY <br />CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />AUGUST 14, 2018 <br />CALL TO ORDER. <br />Mayor Faust called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br />Mayor Faust invited the Council and audience to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />ROLL CALL. <br />Present: Mayor Faust, Councilmembers Gray, Jenson, Randle and Stille. <br />Absent: None <br />Also Present: City Manager Mark Casey and St. Anthony — New Brighton School Superintendent <br />Renee Corneille <br />CONSIDERATION, DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ALL OF THE FOLLOWING <br />ITEMS. <br />I. APPROVAL OF AUGUST 14, 2018 CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. <br />Motion by Councilmember Stille, seconded by Councilmember Jenson, to approve the City <br />Council Meeting Agenda of August 14, 2018 as presented. <br />Motion carried 5 -0. <br />II. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS <br />A. St. Anthony — New Brighton School District Update. <br />Superintendent Renee Corneille provided a PowerPoint update and introduction to herself as well <br />as goals for the school district. She is a resident of St. Anthony and has two children attending <br />Wilshire School. Dr. Corneille's purpose statement and moral imperative were reviewed. <br />Mayor Faust thanked Dr. Corneille for her update. Councilmember Stille stated he is impressed <br />and looks forward to working with the School Board. <br />Councilmember Randle noted he heard the phrase "There is no such thing as other people's <br />children" while he was growing up. He asked what challenges Dr. Corneille sees and she <br />responded it is meeting kids where they are at and partnering with parents. <br />Councilmember Jenson asked what interested her in coming to St. Anthony. Dr. Corneille <br />responded it was a balanced discussion with the family. They wanted to live in St. Anthony <br />before the job was open. <br />
