City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />September 25, 2018 <br />Page 3 <br />There will be an Open House held Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 1 -4pm. This is a free event. <br />Councilmember Randle asked about sending out push out notifications as a reminder for <br />residents to check their smoke detectors and co detectors. Assistant Fire Chief Fuller thanked <br />Councilmember Randle for the suggestion and mentioned it is included in the City Newsletter. <br />A question from the audience was asked about the date on smoke detectors. (Unidentified). The <br />date is when the unit was manufactured. <br />10 B. Resolution 18 -063; a Resolution Adoption of the Hennepin County All Hazard <br />11 Mitigation Plan. <br />12 <br />13 Fire Chief Mark Sitarz reviewed in 2010, the incorporated cities and Hennepin County formed <br />14 an agreement which established the unification in the development of writing the plan. The <br />15 Hennepin County Board of Commissioners and City Councils from each participating <br />16 municipality were required to adopt the plan prior to its submittal to HSEM and FEMA for final <br />17 approval. Fire Chief Sitarz explained the Plan in detail. <br />18 <br />19 The Plan is intended to serve many purposes including: Enhance Public Awareness and <br />20 Understanding, Create a Decision Tool for Management, Promote compliance with State and <br />21 Federal Program Requirements, Enhance Local Policies for Hazard Mitigation Capability, <br />22 Provide Inter - Jurisdictional Coordination of Mitigation - Related Programming and Achieve <br />23 Regulatory Compliance. <br />24 <br />25 A copy of the Plan is available by contacting Fire Chief Sitarz. Council is requested to vote in <br />26 favor of adoption of the plan. <br />27 <br />28 Motion by Councilmember Gray, seconded by Councilmember Jenson, to approve Resolution <br />29 18 -063; a Resolution Adopting the Hennepin County All- Hazard Mitigation Plan. <br />30 <br />31 Motion carried 5 -0. <br />32 <br />33 C. Resolution 18 -064; a Resolution Supporting St. Anthony Village High School's Voter <br />34 Registration Day, September 25, 2018. <br />35 <br />36 Councilmember Stille read the resolution in full. <br />37 <br />38 Motion by Councilmember Stille, seconded by Councilmember Jenson, to approve Resolution <br />39 18 -064; a Resolution Supporting St. Anthony Village High School's Voter Registration Day <br />40 September 25, 2018. <br />41 Motion carried 5 -0. <br />42 <br />43 Mayor Faust noted this came before Council two weeks ago and Council was able to respond. <br />44 This is a good example of cooperation. Mayor Faust thanked City Clerk Nicole Miller, School <br />45 Community Engagement Coordinator Bonnie Brevet and School Communications Director <br />
