<br /> <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION  <br />  <br />  <br />Meeting Date:  January 8, 2019  <br />      <br />  <br />Resolution‐ Approving GASB 75 related fund transfers effective as of 1/1/2018  <br />  <br />  <br />OVERVIEW:  <br />  <br />In front of you this evening is resolution to approve the transfer of Enterprise Fund’s Other  <br />Postemployment Benefit (OPEB) liabilities to the City Internal Service Fund for pension liabilities as of  <br />1/1/2018. Per discussions with the City’s auditors it was determined that by the accounting for all  <br />Funds OPEB liabilities within Internal Service fund would provide a consolidate picture of OPEB status.  <br />A further outcome is a treatment that is consistent with how the City’s governmental funds accounts  <br />for OPEB liabilities. Lastly, it achieves the removal of the year to year impact of changing actuarial  <br />estimates from the Enterprise Fund Balance Financial statements.    <br />  <br />Staff recommends that the resolution to approve the transfers of OPEB liabilities to the Internal  <br />Service Fund be approved.   <br />  <br />95
