2018 Annual Report • Administration • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota

51

HOUSING
St. Anthony has a strong housing stock, with 4,341 households, based on 2016 data. Although it
is aging, it is comparatively younger than the housing stock of other first ring suburbs and is
overall well maintained. The housing stock is stable, although with increasing land values as a
percentage of total value increasing, St. Anthony should consider the potential for the desire for
people to make major renovations or re-build on their property. Nearly one half of all housing
units are multifamily in St. Anthony which is unique among surrounding communities. While
multifamily housing takes up comparatively little land, single-family housing takes up nearly
half the land in St. Anthony. With changing demographics St. Anthony should consider the
potential desire for more townhomes and duplexes.
