Climate change is here and affects all of us
•Warmer winters, increase pest populations
•Longer growing season, leads to earlier bloom times which cause food
scarcity for pollinators
•Large rain events, wash away topsoil and increase pollutants in the
watershed
•Hotter summers, change what survives in our gardens, increase
invasive species, and create urban heat islands that trap air pollutants
2. Pollinators create healthy landscape and are critical to helping us create
resilient communities
•Protecting pollinators = protecting ourselves and our children
•Pesticides and poor nutrition are 2 contributing factors to pollinator
decline that we all can do something about
Pollinators play a critical role in mitigating the impact of climate change.
