Trends <br /> <br /> <br />SPIRITS <br /> <br />WINE <br /> <br />BEER <br /> <br />Wine sales of particular types increased in 2018 <br />including: <br />Blush/Rosé wines <br />Imported Sparkling/Champagnes <br />Cabernet Sauvignon & Sauvignon Blanc <br />Box wines continue to be the largest seller in the <br />wine category followed by bottled Chardonnay, <br />Domestic Sparkling Wines and Imported wines <br />from France, Italy and New Zealand. <br />Beer sales during 2018 increased 2% compared to <br />2017, led by the continued increase and popularity <br />of Micro/Craft beer. Micro/Craft beers account for <br />55% of the total beer sales. A rather large shift is <br />sales occurred within the package sizes. 24 pack <br />can sales continue to decline while 12 and 15 <br />packs are rising rapidly in sales. <br /> <br />During 2018, Spirits category sales increased over <br />3% compared to 2017. Products within the Spirits <br />category that experienced the largest sales <br />increase were: <br />Vodka <br />Straight Whiskey <br />Canadian Whisky <br />Single Malt Scotch, Tequila, Irish whiskey and <br />Brandy also experienced growth in the Spirits <br />category. <br /> <br />While the percent of category sales remain <br />the same (or similar) from previous years, <br />sales of products within a particular <br />category are changing.
