City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />February 26, 2019 <br />Page 2 <br />1 City Manager Casey provided a summary PowerPoint presentation of the 2019 Strategic Plan. <br />2 The strategic planning session was held on January 10 -11, 2019 with 32 participants. Mr. Casey <br />3 reviewed the team members, the process, and the progression. The updated vision is "Saint <br />4 Anthony is an innovative and vibrant community that values our unique environment, providing <br />5 a full range of quality services, and is a thriving city in which to live, work, learn and play ". The <br />6 accomplishments and long -term priorities were reviewed. Guest speakers from Hennepin <br />7 County spoke on how communications drive reputation management, strategic communication <br />8 and engagement. The Strategic Plan and the Pyramid can be found on the City's website. <br />9 <br />10 Councilmember Stille referred to the vision statement and noticed the word desirable should be <br />11 thriving. City Manager Casey stated he will have it corrected. <br />12 <br />13 Mayor Faust complimented the City Manager and staff on the pre -work done prior to the <br />14 sessions. This helps St. Anthony move forward and is a basis for best practices. <br />15 <br />16 Motion by Councilmember Stille, seconded by Councilmember Gray, to approve the 2019 <br />17 Strategic Plan as presented. <br />18 Motion carried 5 -0. <br />19 <br />20 B. St. Anthony Administration Department Annual Report. <br />21 <br />22 City Manager Casey provided the Annual Administration Department Report. The organizational <br />23 chart was reviewed. A review of the City Councilmembers, the organizations /committees they <br />24 are liaison to, and 2018 Council Meetings was provided. The 2018 Highlights included the 2040 <br />25 Comprehensive Plan Update, Government Alliance on Race & Equity, Students in Government <br />26 & Youth in Leadership, Technology, Salo Visitors, Collaborative Reform, Body Camera, <br />27 Emergency Management Exercise, GreenStep 5, GreenCorp, Sustainability Fair, Organics Drop <br />28 Off, Goal Setting Session, and Conferences and Meetings. A Tour of the City was held on May <br />29 24, 2018 including the Mayor /Council, City Manager, Department Heads, Engineer, Planner, <br />30 Planning Commission Chair and Parks Commission Member. A summary of Human Resources <br />31 was provided. Ways to Connect and Engage, Elections, Spring Clean-Up Day, Fix -It Clinic & <br />32 Tech Dump, Sustainability, Community Affiliations, Grants & Cooperative Ventures, <br />33 Development, 2018 Building Permit Valuation, the Planning Commission reviews were also <br />34 provided. The entire report can be found on the City's website. <br />35 <br />36 Councilmember Gray stated he is amazed at what the City Administration Staff has <br />37 accomplished. <br />38 <br />39 Councilmember Stille stated all the department reports will be presented in upcoming meetings. <br />40 At goal- setting, social media was discussed and will be part of improved communication within <br />41 the City. <br />42 <br />43 Mayor Faust stated all accomplishments are important to St. Anthony being a well -run City. He <br />44 commended Staff on the great job they did. <br />45 <br />46 VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />
