ADA Transition Plan <br />For Pedestrian <br />Facilities In the Public <br />Right-of-Way <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />APRIL 9, 2019 <br />The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) prohibits the discrimination <br />of individuals on the basis of disability. <br />Local agencies are required to evaluate its facilities that do not meet <br />the requirements set forth in the ADA, and develop a transition plan for <br />structural changes to facilities that are needed to achieve program <br />accessibility. <br />MnDOT and FHWA have made recent efforts to ensure local agencies <br />have ADA Transition Plans. <br />Background/Need <br />177
