ANTHONY AWARD In 2012, the Spirit of St. Anthony Awards was conceived as a way for employees to recognize their fellow employees who go above and beyond in their commitment to the core values of the St. Anthony staff. This peer nominated award goes to the employee who demonstrates the characteristics of S.E.R.V.I.C.E an acronym for the values of: Support, Effective, Responsible, Visionary, Innovative, Courteous, and Exemplary. The first award for a Finance Department staff person was received in 2013 by Phuongmai Dang, the City’s License and Permit clerk. Phuongmai also serves as the primary receptionist and customer service representative when residents or visitors come to City Hall for assistance. Her nomination included phrases like; “…dependable, takes pride in her work, always willing to help others and supportive, courteous to City employees and customers.” In 2016, another Finance Department staff person was recognized; our Utility Billing Clerk, Robin Hartfiel received the award. Aside from her regular duties, she serves as a back-up for Phuongmai when needed. Her nomination said; “…Robin has a very soft, kind heart which spills over into her life on the job. She shows great patience and sensitivity to St. Anthony residents, and as a co-worker, Robin brings dedication, reliability and friendliness for all and a great sense of humor.” In 2018, Sandy Simon, our Accounts Payable Specialist, received the award. Aside from her duties in processing accounts payable, she serves as member of the GARE committee, and is a go-to person for many staff. Her nomination said; “…I find her very supportive when I go to her with questions about and have seen her be very professional and courteous with the public who approaches the front counter. She is responsive to everyone she deals with and has exemplary character.
