REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION

Meeting Date: May 28, 2019

Ordinance-Amendment to Chapter 112 Alcoholic Beverages

OVERVIEW:
In front of you this evening are proposed amendments to Chapter 112 Alcoholic Beverages, section
112.09 Places Ineligible for a License.
National Grill is providing food and beverage service at the clubhouse for Gross Golf Course. They
currently have a 3.2 On-sale malt liquor license, which is permitted per our City Code.

National Grill is requesting an amendment to the City Code to allow Golf Courses located in the
Recreation/Open Space District to be eligible for a Wine license or a full On-sale intoxicating liquor
license.

Currently our City Code permits Wine and On-sale intoxicating liquor license only to restaurants
located in the Commercial District.

Gross Golf Course is the only Golf Course located in the Recreation/Open Space district in St.
Anthony. All other license requirements for liquor licensing will remain the same as outlined in the
City Code.

Staff has not received any calls or letters from the first reading. Staff recommends waiving the second
reading and move to final reading and adoption. The ordinance does not go into effect until published
in the City’s official newspaper – St. Anthony Bulletin.
43
