City Council Regular Meeting Minutes
May 28, 2019
Page 7

VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS.

City Manager Casey had no report.

Councilmember Jenson stated on May 20 he attended the second half of the Tour of the City.

Councilmember Stille stated on May 16 he attended the Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting
and on May 18 he attended Coffee with the Council. The next one is June 15. On May 20 he
attended the Tour of the City.

Councilmember Gray stated on May 20 he attended the Tour of the City.

Mayor Faust attended the Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting on May 16 and attended the
Tour of the City on May 20. On May 17 he met with the Met Council member. On May 21 St he
attended the Chamber monthly meeting.

VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM.

Mr. Perry Thorvig thanked the Council for approving the liquor license at Gross Golf Course. He
stated he is glad to see a housing project proposed for the WalMart site. He does not like the
longer buildings and would prefer four smaller buildings. He would have expected more people
present to congratulate Council on the favorable ruling received from the Court on the old Lowry
Grove project. There are still some lingering issues. The property has sat vacant for a long time.
There were two units pulled onto the site. Those two units were never occupied. The owner of
the property received sewer hook-ups for 42 units when the State only shows two. He has been in
contact with City staff and was told the owner should get a CUP for the units. The developer
plans to develop 160 units which would be an expansion of a non -conforming use. The 432 unit
that was approved is feasible. He stated the Council is being played by the developer and the
developer should be told no permit was given for 95 unit mobile home park.

IX. INFORMATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS — NONE.

X. ADJOURNMENT.

Mayor Faust adjourned the meeting at 8:15 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
Debbie Wolfe
TimeSaver off Site Secretarial, Inc.

ATTEST:
City Clerk
ayor
✓ r
