Parks Commission Meeting Minutes <br />September 13, 2004 <br />Page 4 <br />1 rather dry. He asked who is responsible for the watering noting that the trees need to be watered. Public <br />2 Works Director Hartman stated that the contractor is still responsible for the maintenance and reviewed <br />3 with the Commission. <br />4 <br />5 Chair Jindra stated that she and Rich Koechlien recently did a walkthrough of the Park and tagged all of <br />6 the trees that should be replaced. She provided the Commission with a brief overview. <br />7 <br />8 Commissioner Ganley suggested considering a plaque for the tree donations. He reviewed the project <br />9 with the Commission stating that they plan to plant the donated trees along the pathway on the east side <br />10 of the trail. He explained that each graduating class would purchase and donate a tree noting that this <br />11 would be an ongoing project that would eventually provide a beautiful grove of trees. <br />12 <br />13 Vice Chair Koehntop asked who is spearheading this project in the School system. Commissioner <br />14 Ganley explained that the majority of the involvement has been with the Student Council, along with <br />15 their Advisor, the School Counselor and Tom Foley. <br />16 <br />17 Vice Chair Koehntop asked if there is any support from the School Board. Ms. Dunn suggested that <br />18 they formulate a plan, including guidelines, for the School Board to review. She stated that they would <br />19 be willing to consider supporting the project but would like to see some form of guidelines or process <br />put into place first. <br />22 Chair Jindra suggested considering a plaque for Central Park that would honor the individuals involved <br />23 in the Park upgrade. She stated that the plaque should include Task Force Members, Consultants, <br />24 Commission Members and Staff. She stated that she would review further with Public Works Director <br />25 Hartman. <br />26 <br />27 VII. NEXT AGENDA <br />28 <br />29 Chair Jindra suggested that the Commission discuss and identify what they would like to see done for <br />30 further improvements at the Parks. She encouraged the Commission to give it some thought and provide <br />31 their suggestions to Public Works Director Hartman for inclusion to the next meeting agenda. <br />32 <br />33 X.
