I CITY OF ST. ANTHONY 2 PARKS COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES 3 MARCH 13, 2000 4 6:30 p.m. Water Tower Park 5 7:00 p.m. Conference Room 6 I. CALL TO ORDER. 7 Chair Jindra called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and welcomed everyone to the meeting. 8 She wished to note for the record that the Commission had met at Water Tower Park at 6:30 p.m. 9 to review items that need to be completed. It is the Commission's intention to provide an update 10 to the City Council regarding the progress of Water Tower Park. 11 II. ROLL CALL. 12 Present: Chair Carol Jindra, Vice Chair Doug Koehntop, Commissioners George 13 Wagner, Julie Gebhardt, Colleen Hallada, Daniel Ganley. 14 Also Present: Representative from School Board (Denise Dunn); Representative from 15 Sports Boosters (George Zurbey); Public Works Director (Jay Hartman); 16 City Council Liaison (Brian Thuesen). 17 Absent: Commissioner Jan Jensen, Representative from Community Services 18 (Diana Roadfeldt). 19 III. APPROVAL OF FEBRUARY 14, 2000 PARKS COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES. 20 Motion by Koehntop, second by Wagner, to approve the minutes of the February 14, 2000 Parks 21 Commission meeting with the following clarification: 22 Page 8, Line 10, first sentence, replace "Mr. Severson and Ms. Schober" with "the baseball and 23 soccer conimissioner(s)." 24 Motion carried unanimously. 25 Chair Jindra took the opportunity to introduce and welcome Denise Dunn, the School Board 26 Representative, who has been appointed to serve as a liaison to the Parks Commission. 27 IV. PRESENTATION OF DRAFT PLAN FROM HENNEPIN COUNTY PARKS. 28 Chair Jindra introduced Mr. Del Miller, Intergovernmental Relations Manager for Hennepin 29 County. By way of background. Mr. Miller stated that Hennepin Parks is an organization that 30 was set up by the Legislature in 1957. 31 Additionally, Hennepin Parks has been awarded the responsibility for acquisition, development 32 and maintenance of large park reserves, regional parks, and regional trails for the benefit and use 33 of citizens of suburban Hennepin County, Scott County, the metropolitan area, and the State of C4 Minnesota.
