MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: March 19,1999 <br />TO: Mike Mornson, City Manager <br />FROM: Jay Hartman, Public Works Director <br />RE: Water Tower Park <br />The city of St. Anthony Parks Commission have completed the design and specification <br />requirements for the new Water Tower Park playground area. The engineering estimate <br />for the multi-age playground is approximately $248,000. This estimate does not include <br />engineering costs incurred by BRW. <br />The proposed schedule for the construction of the park is as follows: <br />March 23 City Council authorizes advertisement of bids. <br />March 29 Construction plans available to contractors. <br />April 12 Bid opening 1:00PM. <br />April 13 City Council awards construction contract. <br />April 30 Contractor delivers play equipment designs to City for <br />Parks Commission review and selection. <br />May 7 Public Works Director informs contractor of play <br />equipment design/manufacturer selection. <br />July 19 Park construction is complete. <br />To date, the City Council has authorized BRW to proceed through the bid -opening <br />portion of this project. Bob Kost has submitted a proposal for the construction related <br />services needed to complete this project. <br />The Parks Commission along with Bob Kost from BRW will be presenting the proposed <br />plan to the City Council on March 23, 1999. <br />
