Parks Commission Meeting Minutes <br />July 10, 2000 <br />Page 5 <br />1 It was noted that a City Council meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, July 11, and it was sug- <br />2 gested that City Council liaison Amy Sparks bring the issue to the Council at that meeting. <br />3 Ganley mentioned that this was only a proposed plan. However, Wagner expressed his <br />4 opinion that the City Council should be aware of the plan prior to presentation at VillageFest. <br />5 Discussion ensued about the issue of presenting the plan at the VillageFest celebration, and it <br />6 was determined that it must be clearly stated that the plan was simply a "proposed" plan. <br />7 Amy Sparks mentioned that she would announce to the City Council at the meeting on July <br />8 11, 2000 that the Parks Commission was planning on posting the proposed plan at <br />9 VillageFest. Mr. Kost noted that he and his associate, Augie Wong, would be willing to - <br />10 attend a City Council meeting and explain the plan and developments of Central Park. <br />11 Jindra noted that Silver Point Park and Water Tower Park were both on the agenda. Mr. Kost <br />12 noted that WSB & Associates was in charge of Silver Point Park, and that issue would be <br />13 tabled. <br />I Augie Wong, BRW, noted some punch list items of Water Tower Park that required the <br />15 Commission's attention. He reviewed a list with the Commissioners and provided an update <br />16 to outstanding issues. Details such as raising the basketball hoop, and some restriping, <br />17 bathroom repaving, were discussed. Mr. Wong noted some minor issues that needed to be <br />18 reviewed for the playground area. <br />19 Jindra noted that on May 20, 1999, the remaining play equipment was ordered and is yet to <br />20 be received. Mr. Wong stated that he has determined that the company is awaiting a safety <br />21 approval of the remaining equipment. Mr. Wong stated that he planned on meeting with <br />22 Flannigans (the company from which the equipment was ordered), and with Public Works <br />23 Director Jay Hartman. <br />24 Mr. Wong stated he would work with Flannigans to ensure a satisfactory resolution. <br />25 V. REPORTS. <br />26 A. Community Services. <br />27 Diane Skrivseth stated that Community Services does not meet during the summer. <br />28 B. School Board. <br />29 Denise Dunn will be attending a meeting on Tuesday, July 11, 2000 and will report back to <br />30 the Commission at the Commission's next meeting. <br />6 <br />-31 C.
