ANTHONY <br />2 CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />3 AUGUST 13, 2019 <br />4 <br />5 CALL TO ORDER. <br />6 <br />7 Mayor Faust called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />8 <br />9 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br />10 <br />11 Mayor Faust invited the Council and audience to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />12 <br />13 ROLL CALL. <br />14 <br />15 Present: Mayor Faust, Councilmembers Gray, Jenson, Randle and Stille. <br />16 Absent: None <br />17 Also Present: City Manager Mark Casey <br />18 Guests: Dr. Renee Corneille, St. Anthony — New Brighton School District Superintendent and <br />19 Ms. Jen Kullgren, Forester -Hennepin County Environment and Energy. <br />20 <br />21 CONSIDERATION, DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ALL OF THE FOLLOWING <br />22 ITEMS. <br />23 <br />24 I. APPROVAL OF AUGUST 13, 2019 CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. <br />25 <br />26 Motion by Councilmember Gray, seconded by Councilmember Jenson, to approve the City <br />27 Council Meeting Agenda of August 13, 2019. <br />28 <br />29 Motion carried 5-0. <br />30 <br />31 II. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS. <br />32 <br />33 A. St. Anthony -New Brighton School District Update <br />34 <br />35 Superintendent Renee Corneille provided a PowerPoint update on the School District, noting she <br />36 has been in her position for one year. The school district is purpose -driven. Dr. Corneille <br />37 reviewed some historical documents from 1954. The 2014 mission and vision were reviewed <br />38 along with the strategic directions. The other ways of measuring success within the school <br />39 district were described. In the School District there are 310 staff members, 1810 students and <br />40 9876 community members. <br />41 <br />42 Councilmember Stille noted Dr. Corneille mentioned community in her presentation and he <br />43 asked the school district reach out to the City when assistance is needed. He noted the City <br />44 Council also has high expectations. Councilmember Stille stated he appreciates the ongoing great <br />45 relationship between the City Council and the School District. <br />46 <br />47 Councilmember Randle commented his son is going into high school this year and he is very <br />48 happy with what the school has provided for him and the direction the district is taking. <br />49 <br />
